David Nooton Thurman

David Nooton Thurman, 71, of Prospect, died at Centra Southside Community Hospital on Sunday, January 22, 2017. He was born on April 19, 1945, a son of the late John Nooton and Thelma Maxine McGee Thurman. He was a heavy equipment mechanic for many years and loved to watch western movies.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Shirley Thurman; two daughters, Kelly Torres of Glendale, Arizona and Kye Hart of Phoenix, Arizona; seven grandchildren; three sisters, Ruth Kelso (Dean) of Maquon, Illinois, Leona Wallace (Ron) of Citra, Florida, and Alice Roming of Eddy, Texas; two sisters-in-law, Patricia Thurman and Linda Thurman of St. Augustine, Illinois; numerous nieces and nephews and a special buddy, his dog Taffy. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Ernie and Roger “Rod” and two sisters, Millie and Linda.
There will be no services, with a private cremation.
