The Cumberland Christmas Parade Committee recently announced its grand marshal for this year’s parade is World War II veteran Coffman Walton Jr.
“In keeping with our theme of the 75th Anniversary of World War II, Mr. Walton was chosen for his service to our county and our community,” committee members said.
Walton enlisted in the Army Air Force on Oct. 10, 1942, and wrote of his life experiences in a 2008 book, This is How It Was.
