PE’s Harris named tourney MVP

The Cumberland High School varsity girls basketball team won the two-day holiday tournament it hosted over the weekend, defeating Prince Edward County High School 45-33 in the championship game Saturday evening. Despite the loss, Lady Eagles sophomore Da’Mya Harris (No. 13) was named the Most Valuable Player of the tournament. She helped her team defeat Northumberland High School 45-22 on Friday, leading all scorers with 23 points. Across both of Prince Edward’s games, she contributed 38 points, 17 steals, 12 rebounds and seven assists. Lady Eagles junior Ka’Deshia Wright was named to the all-tournament team.
