Osl re-elected to FBFV board

Cumberland County cattle, forage and forestry producer William F. “Bill” Osl Jr. of Columbia was elected Dec. 1 to a second three-year term on the Virginia Farm Bureau Federation (FVBF) board of directors.
Elections of officers and directors were held at the VFBF 2016 Annual Convention in Hot Springs.
As a board member, Osl will represent Farm Bureau producer members in Amelia, Appomattox, Buckingham, Chesterfield, Cumberland, Nottoway, Powhatan and Prince Edward counties.
Osl serves on the Cumberland County Farm Bureau board and is a past president of that organization. He serves on the Commonwealth Fairs & Events Oversight Committee, the State Fair of Virginia board and the VFBF Investment and Finance Committee. He has served on the VFBF Membership Categories Study Committee and Legislative Committee. He is a former member of the Virginia Farm Bureau Federation AgPAC board of trustees.
He retired from AT&T and Lucent Technologies after working for 28 years as a corporate officer and vice president.
Osl is chairman of the New York City Rescue Mission board. He has served on the boards of AT&T Consumer Products Ltd. and Cancer Hope Network. He is a past chairman of the Cumberland County Public Schools Foundation Inc.
He attends Cartersville Baptist Church. He and his wife, Stephanie, own and operate Oakland Farm. They have five children and 16 grandchildren.
