One killed, four injured in Nottoway crash

NOTTOWAY — An 18-year-old man was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Nottoway County Wednesday afternoon.

Joshua D. Baughan died at the scene of the crash, according to Virginia State Police. The crash occurred on Route 460 Business, just south of Route 460.

“A 2004 Infiniti was traveling south on Route 460 business when it crossed the centerline and struck a 2001 Ford F-150 head-on,” officials said in the release.

Baughan was driving the Infiniti and not wearing a seatbelt, police said.

“A male passenger was flown via med-flight to MCV with serious life-threatening injuries. A female passenger was transported to (a) Farmville hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  The driver of the Ford F-150, Donald K. Gilbert, Jr., 52 of North Chesterfield, was transported via med-flight to MCV with serious injuries; a male passenger was transported to Farmville Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.”

Police say the crash remains under investigation.
