LCCM to offer spring classes

Published 12:26 pm Tuesday, December 20, 2016

Guitar and children’s choir classes are among the spring offerings of Longwood’s Center for Community Music.

The children’s choir class is for ages 7-11; the guitar class, also new, is for all ages and levels. Classes in ukulele, beginning and adult piano, and music theater workshop also will be offered beginning in January by the center, an outreach program of Longwood University’s music department. Instruction is available for beginners of all ages as well as musicians at intermediate and advanced levels.

The main teachers are Longwood faculty members, with Longwood students serving as assistants and interns. Spring classes begin the week of Jan. 16 and meet once a week throughout the spring semester, which ends in early May. Some classes will include performance opportunities at the end of the semester.
