It’s a special time of year

This is a very special time of year, one that we should be celebrating all year through.

Did you see the last production by the Waterworks Players? If you missed it, you missed a very good one.

Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Smith traveled to Hopewell on Saturday where they met their daughter, Mrs. Emma Sharpe, and her son, Jeffrey. They had lunch at Shoney’s to celebrate Jeffrey’s 10th birthday, which was Dec. 6.

Mrs. Dianna Smith spent Monday visiting with her mother-in-law, Mrs. Pat Smith.

On Wednesday, Mrs. Rita Utzinger and Mrs. Pat Smith enjoyed having breakfast together at Merk’s.

Mrs. Brenda Walton of Powhatan and Mrs. Pat Smith met for breakfast on Tuesday the 6th at the Cumberland Restaurant.

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Stockton enjoyed seeing the latest production of the Waterworks Players, “Beauty and the Beast.” This was a most delightful production. To watch the children respond was wonderful.

The Farmville Woman’s Club met at Charleys Waterfront Cafe for its Christmas luncheon. Jane Clark and Peggy Kelsey led the devotions.

On Dec. 1, Frances Ollie and Mrs. Flora Bolt met at Merk’s Place for lunch and catching up on family things.

Mrs. Frances Anderson accompanied Mrs. Flora Bolt to the Christmas dinner and program at Appomattox P.E. Presbyterian Church at Tuggle on the 4th of December. Mrs. Shirley Robertson directed the program.

Stacy Bolt met with some family members, Mrs. Flora Bolt, Mrs. Betty Jean Bolt and Ashley Bolt, on the 8th at Merk’s Place to celebrate her birthday. Stacy’s birthday was on the 7th.

Mrs. Flora Bolt and Mrs. Frances Anderson attended the community dinner at the Curdsville Community Center on Dec. 5. The “Great Carolers” from the First Baptist Church of Dillwyn presented a program of songs.

Mrs. Judy Bolt and son, Chris, entertained several family members with lunch on Dec. 11. Those attending were Jennifer Bolt, Alxis Moser, Flora Bolt, Steve Bolt and Haley and Payden Murdock.

Friends and neighbors are praying for a speedy recovery for Dale Tatum, Joyce C. Floyd, Gary Fiscus, Jean P. Derrenbacker, Gail George, Elfrieda Kerns, Betty Jean Bolt and Mildred Harvey Shanks.

The Rev. Chuck Klotzberger and the members of Appomattox P.E. Presbyterian Church at Tuggle invite you to worship with them each Sunday.

The membership of Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church at Prospect invites you to come and worship with them every Sunday. Sunday school is at 10 a.m. with worship at 11 a.m. The Rev. Caitlin Hoy will be at Davis Memorial on Sunday.

Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church at Prospect will have their Christmas Eve service Dec. 24 at 7 p.m. They welcome all to come.

Calvary Chapel-Farmville invites you to worship with them on Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. They invite you to join them each week on Wednesday evening for Bible Study for all age groups at 7 p.m. The church is located at 302 Industrial Park Road, in the former Stackpole-Carbone building.
