JANUARY 1

ANNUAL CHRISTMAS CANTATA, 11 a.m. at Oakwood UMC, 1291 Columbia Road, Columbia. “O Holy Night” will be sung by the choir.

FIRST DAY HIKES AT HIGH BRIDGE, 2 p.m. A ranger will guide a short easy hike across High Bridge and back. Total length of the hike is approximately 1 mile. At 3 p.m. a more strenuous hike will begin that guides participants to a rarely visited part of the park along an abandoned rail line constructed to divert traffic when High Bridge was out of service for maintenance in 1870. Total distance is almost 2 miles and varies from easy to strenuous in places. The Friends Group for the Park will be present with refreshments and a warm campfire.
