Every year, Buckingham County High School presents academic jackets to seniors whose overall GPA is 3.75 or better. This year, 24 seniors made the list and received a converted jacket in front of family and friends — a great testimony to their hard work and determination. Wearing jackets are, from left, front, Morgan Pugh, Rachael Pugh, Tre’Quan Young; middle row, Jarvis Bowles, Kayleigh Toney, Hope Simmers, Taylor Costello, Sarah Butterfield, Kamani Gough, Endya Glover, Ray Monroe, Jr.; back row, Mya Chambers, Dakota Delong-Maxey, Emily Vaughan, Katelyn Moree, Jeff Wise, Kaitlyn Ownby, Kierra Turner, Nicole Bailey, Alexis Crews, Lauralee Powell and Mattie Kish Heslip. Not pictured are Judah Fisher and Rachel Temple. (Editor’s note: An earlier version from the school omitted Monroe and stated 25 seniors made the list.)
