Pumpkin Lighting Festival

Fuqua School’s annual PTSA Pumpkin Lighting Festival was a huge success with glowing pumpkins and glowing smiles. The Lower School families gathered to enjoy games, crafts, and face painting with the help of the Falcon cheerleaders, caricatures by upper school artists, class pumpkin voting, and a costume parade. The theme for the event was the 50th anniversary of The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. Each teacher selected a Peanuts character to decorate on his or her class pumpkin. Sally, Lucy, Charlie, Linus, Snoopy, Peppermint Patty, Pig Pen, and Schroeder were proudly displayed to be voted upon as the best pumpkin. All pumpkins were so original and the classes did a great job depicting the Peanuts characters. It was a very close race for the winning class pumpkin. Congratulations to Mrs. Monica Williams’ 2/3 grade class for Snoopy, the Flying Ace, as they narrowly took the prize, winning the coveted award — a dress down day. Mrs. Sarah Grant, who coordinated the PTSA event shared, “This night would have not been possible without the participation of our wonderful parents, teachers, students, and facilities crew. Enjoying the activities are, from left, Liz Sears with daughter, Lila, as Fuqua School cheerleader Tori Case paints a tiny candy corn.
