Longwood University redshirt junior forward Khris Lane, No.4, contributed a career-high 26 points and attacked the boards with his trademark physicality Friday night to help the Lancers achieve their first win of the 2016-17 season, defeating visiting Salem International University 87-74. As part of his fourth career double-double, Lane’s 14 rebounds were twice as many as any other player on the floor. Longwood outscored Salem International 48-26 in the paint and outrebounded the Tigers 39-32. The Lancers (1-2) return to the road this week, visiting St. Francis University in Loretto, Pa., on Wednesday at 7 p.m. The game will air live on WVHL 92.9 Kickin’ Country FM.
