H-SC records set in pool

Hampden-Sydney College’s (H-SC) swimming team continued to rewrite the school record book with seven new top marks in a 131-74 loss to visiting Randolph-Macon College on Friday.
H-SC’s 200-meter medley relay team finished second with a 1:55.66 time, setting a new school record. The team included Hudson Elmore, John Dickerson, Conor O’Heir and Ryan Mitchell.
Keifer Pfister, Conor Roberson and Adrian Cothren each broke the school record in the 800-meter freestyle, finishing 3-4-5 with times of 10:15.22, 10:34.19 and 11:09.09.
Carter Cole placed second in the 200-meter freestyle at 2:09.08 and set the school record in the 400-meter individual medley at 5:11.95 to take third.
Brandon Koch took the silver in the 50-meter freestyle (26.39 seconds).
Elmore bested his own H-SC record in the 100-meter butterfly, taking home first place at 1:02.28.
Mitchell also broke his own record in the 100-meter freestyle, clocking in at 59.18 to take second.
Cole established the new high-water mark at H-SC in the 100-meter backstroke, completing the race in 1:03.57, good for second.
H-SC set a new top time in the 200-meter freestyle relay as Koch, O’Heir, Mitchell and Stewart Lawrence checked in at 1:44.64 for second place.
