Financial assistance offered for septic repairs
Published 8:29 am Thursday, November 3, 2016
For most people, a septic system is likely “out of sight and out of mind.”
Although septic systems can be easy to overlook, maintaining it is an important part of being a homeowner. Funding is available through the Piedmont Soil and Water Conservation District to reimburse homeowners for 50 percent of the costs of septic system pump outs, repairs and replacements.
Applicants must live in the Spring Creek, Briery Creek, Sandy River, Bush River, Little Sandy Creek, or Saylers Creek watersheds in Prince Edward County. Informational workshops will be held Nov. 14 at the Rice Volunteer Fire Department, from 2-3 p.m. or 6-7 p.m. Visitors will also be entered into a drawing to win a free septic pump out!
