Archer “Archie” E. Dunkley Jr., 71, of Farmville, passed away on November 16, 2016. He was born in Farmville on May 16, 1945 to the late Virginia Page and Archer E. Dunkley. He was raised on a tobacco farm and worked as a mechanic. He loved his work and there wasn’t a thing he couldn’t fix, he was lovingly called “Mr. Fix it.”

He is survived by his wife of 51 years Cecilia; his children, Mary Jo Cooper (Colin) of Keysville, Melinda Hanks (Robbie) of Keysville, and Matthew “Rock” Dunkley (Tammy) of Abilene; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild; a sister, Deloris Bomar and a brother, Wayne Dunkley. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A graveside funeral service was held on Saturday, November 19 at Westview Cemetery.
