Thursday is ‘Senior Law Day’

The Prince Edward County Bar Association and Virginia Legal Aid Society Inc. will hold Senior Law Day, a free program designed to provide community seniors, caregivers and seniors’ family members with information on relevant legal topics.
This event will be held Thursday from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the Farmville Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall, 200 W. Third St., in Farmville. This program is free and open to the public.
Attendees will receive a free copy of the Senior Citizens Handbook published by the Virginia State Bar, a widely sought after publication with lots of useful information. The program will also include presentations by attorneys and professionals in elder care on topics such as advance directives, elderly fraud prevention, elder abuse and domestic violence, SNAP (Food Stamp) benefits, services for the elderly by Piedmont Senior Resources and PACE, and a Medicaid overview.
Parking is available and the site is handicapped accessible. Light refreshments will be served.
