Look to the past at Holliday Lake
Published 1:23 pm Tuesday, October 25, 2016
Visit Holliday Lake State Park on Saturday, from noon-3 p.m. to explore the past.
The park and the surrounding area have changed a lot over the years, and evidence of past peoples can be found if you look around closely. Bring lunch to the white beach tent and eat with the park interpreter to discuss how the park got its interesting name.
Then experience history through artifacts that have been discovered in the park. Later, pan for gold and learn about the rise and fall of the Jones Family, who lived here 150 years ago. For more information, please contact the Park Office at 434-248-6308 or email us at hollidaylake@dcr.virginia.gov.
