LCVA’s Art after Dark preserves the past

The Longwood Center for the Visual Arts (LCVA) presents its next Art after Dark program: Among the Dolls on Wednesday. Doors will open at 6 p.m. for refreshments; the program begins at 6:30 p.m. on the lower level.

Join Amber Groome, the artist behind LCVA’s Testimony exhibition, as she shows attendees how to make small-scale creations inspired by her work.

Testimony: Amber Groome is an intimate exhibition featuring the contemporary outsider artist’s meticulously crafted sculpture and assemblage. Testimony addresses the challenges and stigma of living with mental illness, and the secrecy that often accompanies it. The artist’s intensely personal work is simultaneously private and revealing, fragile yet bold, and is best experienced in smaller settings. Testimony: Amber Groome is on view through Jan. 8.
