The Cumberland Garden Club visited Bear Creek Lake Park for a picnic lunch on Aug. 30. In addition to the “obligatory” fried chicken, members brought an assortment of delicious salads and desserts for all to enjoy. Since new officers will be elected this month, a nominating committee was selected at the August meeting to present nominees in September. Most of the picnic time, however, was devoted to social conversations as the ladies enjoyed each other’s company. Attending members included President Nancy Coxon, Barbara Daniels, Janet Powers, Claire Landis, Betty Brown, Pat Allard, Nell Spain, Pat Parker, Carolyn Foran, Georgeen Carden, Elaine Myers, Carol Miller and Carol Allen with very special guest, Miss Shaiann Allen.
