Cumberland High School (CHS) senior Chase Grubbs is now the 1A East Region Golfer of the Year and won the 2016 1A East Region Championship. Having shot a 78 for the win, he is, according to CHS Principal Jeffrey Scales, the first golfer in school history to be regional golf champion. In addition, Chase and fellow CHS golfer Dustin Clark qualified for the 1A East State Golf Tournament, starting Monday in Harrisonburg. Pictured are, from left, Dustin, Chase and Coach Preston Monroe.
