Legendary songwriter will appear at H-SC Wednesday

Ramblin’ Jack Elliott will perform at Hampden-Sydney College on Wednesday.
Jack Elliott is a legendary singer/songwriter known for his unique mix of folk, blues and country music. He learned from Woody Guthrie and mentored Bob Dylan, according to a press release. Jack has written songs for Johnny Cash and recorded with members of the Red Hot Chili Peppers as well as a slew of other artists. While nominated for five Grammy awards, he won two — one in 1995 for Best Traditional Folk Album and one in 2010 for Best Traditional Blues Album.
This event is sponsored by the Fine Arts Department and the American Acoustic Music Series and is free and open to the public. The event will be held in Johns Auditorium at 7:30 p.m.
