Frances Elizabeth Meadows Keller

Frances Elizabeth Meadows Keller, from San Diego, California, passed away Friday, August 19, after a courageous battle with cancer. Fran was a member of First United Methodist Church of San Diego.
Born on December 11, 1926, in Virgilina to Wheeler S. Meadows and Lillie M. Meadows, she was one of 15 children. She attended Worsham High School and Layne Business in Farmville. Fran worked for many major corporations and retired in San Diego.
Fran was married 66 years to the late Captain Bruce W. Keller, USN, and together they traveled during his service to wonderful destinations around the world including Saipan, Guam, and many others. She was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing with her close friends every Tuesday and Thursday.
Fran is survived by Connie M. Scott, Gainesville, Ga., Donald E. Meadows, Monroe, N.C., Hedy M. Maness, Rustburg, James Thomas Meadows, Salisbury, Md., and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 10 siblings, Walter Turner, Salisbury, Md., Richard Turner, infant, Rosie Linkenhoker, Pocomoke, Md., Mary Wathall, Franklin, Goldzie M. Duncan, Franklin, Maybelle Bowles, Farmville, W.S. Meadows Jr., Salisbury, Md., Floyd Meadows, Salisbury, Md., Fred Meadows, Farmville, and Billy Meadows, Meherrin.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10 a.m. on September, 10 at Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church in Meherrin, across from the family farm. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, next to her beloved husband at a later date.
