Emmett T. Clark Jr., 81, passed away on September 27, 2016. He was born to the late Emmett T. and Helen Clark on September 27, 1935. He lived in Farmville for 36 years and retired as a tugboat captain.

He was married to Bonnie J. Clark for 61 years.

Mr. Clark is survived by his daughters, Deborah J. Dowell (Christopher) of Farmville, Ginger L. Clark of Farmville, and Sharon L. Parsons (Bruce) of Keysville; a son, Emmett Troy Clark III of Chesapeake; a brother, Herman K. Clark; a sister, Peggy Hardin; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Patsy Clark and a brother, Jimmy Clark.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 29 at 6 p.m. in the Chapel of Shorter Funeral Home.

Interment will be Friday, September 30 at 10 a.m. in the Rosewood Memorial Park, Virginia Beach.
