“Have you heard about the big debate happening in Farmville in October?” ask officials from the Southside Society to Prevent Cruelty to Animals (SCPA). “We’re talking about dogs versus cats, of course.”

Join Southside SCPA volunteers on the deck at Macado’s restaurant, 200 East Third St., in Farmville for food and drink specials, freebies and to cast your votes.

“Every dollar counts,” SCPA officials said, “whether you vote ‘bark’ or ‘meow.’”
