The South Central Virginia Genealogical Society (SCVGS) will welcome the Rev. Curtis E. Wheeler as guest speaker Saturday at 1:30 p.m. during a meeting to be held in the Family History and Research Room of the Charlotte County Public Library, 112 LeGrande Ave., Charlotte Court House. The topic of will be “Applying DNA to Your Genealogical Research.” Wheeler began his genealogical journey almost 30 years ago when the mini-series “Roots” inspired him to begin his family search. Like many people today, he has turned to using DNA results to fill in gaps or as a lead to not yet researched directions. This program is especially for people who have thought of using DNA as a possible genealogical took or have used it, but don’t understand it. For more information, visit www.scvgs.com.
