Myers receives first professional call-up

Aaron Myers, formerly an ace starting pitcher for Longwood University, has found success as a relief pitcher in the Milwaukee Brewers organization and earned his first career promotion July 20.

After posting a 1-0 record and a 1.64 in six appearances with the Arizona League (AZL) Brewers, he was sent to the Helena Brewers in the short season Pioneer League. In his debut with Helena, Myers struck out four batters in 3.1 scoreless innings July 23. Myers has struck out 11 batters in 6.2 innings with just two hits allowed and two walks issued in three appearances with Helena; Myers struck out 11 batters in 11.0 innings this season with the AZL Brewers. The 22-year-old right-hander has not allowed a run and has a 1-0 record with Helena.
