Each Sunday during the month of August, family-friendly, free admission programs will take place inside the visitor center as part of Sailor’s Creek Battlefield Historical State Park annual “Ice Cream Sundays” lecture series. On Sunday at 2 p.m., the featured topic will be “Hummingbirds,” presented by local naturalist Joe Lively. Also, as with each Ice Cream Sunday lecture throughout the month, for a donation of $2 to the Friends of Sailor’s Creek Battlefield volunteer support group, guests may indulge in all-you-can-eat ice cream sundaes during the presentation.
