Historic Buckingham Inc. (HBI) and the Buckingham Chamber of Commerce are jointly hosting the first wine tasting in Buckingham on Saturday, Sept. 17, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Historic Village at Lee Wayside.

According to HBI President Martha Louis, there is buzz all over Central Virginia about the first wine tasting.

“The historic village is such a lovely setting for the event in that the village has lots of beautiful shade trees and quaint little buildings most over 100 years old,” Louis said.

Four vineyards will participate: DeVault Family Vineyard, Three Sisters of Shiney Rock, American Way Country Wines and Bright Meadows Farm Vineyard. Two food trucks, Spicy Sea Gourmet and Villa Nova, will offer delicious food to compliment the wine tasting along with local cheese makers.

There will be a fine arts show of pottery, jewelry, woodwork, paintings and more for the public’s enjoyment. There will also be a kid’s area with arts, crafts and games. Featured on the Village Stage will be the music of “Feng Sway,” (jazz and blues) and “Sean Fir” (celtic). Admission is $15 for tasters (includes glass), $10 General admission (non-tasters), children 12 and under will be admitted free. The Historic Village is located two miles west of Sprouse’s Corner.
