Waterworks announces cast for ‘Fuddy Meers’

Living with psychogenic amnesia isn’t easy — waking up each morning with no memory of the previous day, nor any of the days before, and needing a reintroduction to your husband, your name and your entire life. But in the hands of playwright David Lindsay-Abaire, it can be darkly funny as well. “Fuddy Meers” is the Waterworks Players’ next production, and it follows the unfortunate amnesia-stricken Claire, with her husband, Richard, and her resentful teenage son, Kenny, through a rather complicated day proceeds a little bit differently than her many days before.

We welcome Brittany Hines (Claire), Andy Stump (Richard) and Stu Nicholson (Kenny) to their Waterworks stage debuts.

Rounding out the cast are four Waterworks veterans: Chris Klinger plays the mysterious Limping Man, who makes an unexpected entrance and derails Claire’s daily routine; Pam Wright is Gertie, whose recent stroke has rendered her unable to make herself understood (pronouncing, for instance, “funny mirrors” as “fuddy meers”); Jordan Whiley entertains as Millet, whose puppet sidekick has rather a lot to say; and Sherri Davenport, as Heidi, plays a cop who tries to make an arrest and thus inserts herself into the day’s proceedings.
