The Prince Edward-Farmville Youth Association (PEFYA) Machine Pitch All-Star baseball team won the Sportsmanship Award at the Dixie Youth Instructional State Tournament in Appomattox. The award was handed out based on the respectful behavior of PEFYA’s coaches, players, parents and fans, as observed by the umpires, Tournament Director Sharon Drinkard and her assistant at the machine pitch field. The PEFYA squad did not win the state tourney, but it did win its district tourney and received the Sportsmanship Award then, as well.
