Redshirt-sophomore Willy Miezan of the Longwood University men’s soccer team was named to the United States Premier Development League Team of the Week following a dynamic offensive week.

Playing for the Seacoast United Phantoms, Miezan notched a hat trick in the squad’s 4-0 victory against FA Euro New York on June 26 in 85 minutes of playing time. Through 10 games, Miezan has helped the Phantoms to a 5-3-2 start, scoring a team-best five goals in eight games played. He ranks among the top 20 in goal scoring in the league this season.

Miezan is one of two players on the 2016 Longwood roster on the Phantom squad, as incoming freshman Tom Devitt has appeared in all 10 games, logging 438 minutes.

A product of Alexandria, Miezan enjoyed a breakout freshman campaign for the Lancers in 2015, leading the squad and ranking among the top 10 in the NCAA in goals with 13.
