LU’s Miller named to new state education committee

RICHMOND — Dr. Sara Miller, of Moseley, an assistant professor at Longwood University, has been named to the state’s School Readiness Committee by Gov. Terry McAuliffe.
According to a press release, the School Readiness Committee was established by the 2016 Virginia General Assembly in order to better equip the next generation of early childhood educators with skills that will ensure student success.
Committee membership was determined following an exhaustive review of stakeholder recommendations and applications, the release stated.
Citizen members of the School Readiness Committee were chosen by Secretary of Education Anne Holton in consultation with Secretary of Health and Human Resources Dr. Bill Hazel.
