Kenneth Dean Mottley

Kenneth Dean Mottley, 71 of South Boston, passed away on July 3, 2016. He was born in Farmville on June 2, 1945 to the late Joel F. and Parrie Denton Mottley. He grew up on the family farm and later became a truck driver but always worked the farm with his family.

He was married to his love Dorothy Almond Mottley for 41 years. He was a member of Cedar Grove United Methodist Church in Alton and was well known for being a good hearted generous man who would do anything for anyone he could. He had a great sense of humor and loved his family.

Mr. Mottley is survived by his wife, son, Kenneth Ree Mottley of Amelia; daughter, Dena Wade of Crewe; seven grandchildren; and twin sisters, Charlotte deKrafft and Carolyn Long. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Wayne F. Mottley.

A funeral service was held on Thursday, July 7 in Bethel United Methodist Church, Jetersville, with interment followed in the Mottley family cemetery.
