FARMVILLE — The Farmville Jaycees’ First Friday for August is set for next Friday, Aug. 5.

“First Fridays is held at Riverside Park in downtown Farmville and begins at 5:30 p.m.,” according to a  Jaycees press release. “The August event will feature local favorite Improbable Cause as the guest musical group.”

This is the third event of the 2016 season, according to the release. “Creative Electrical Contractors will be serving as lead sponsor for the event and will be on-site to share some information with the … community,” Jaycees said in the release.

Improbable Cause, a band from Halifax County, was formed in 2011. “They play a variety of music and have been a favorite of the Riverside Park stage for a number of years. Bojangles Restaurant will serve as the food vendor for the evening.”

First Fridays is a family friendly event featuring activities for children, food from various vendors and a variety of craft beverages.
