Arthur Banks, 99, of New Canton, WWII Veteran and a retired employee of United States Postal Service departed this life on Sunday, July 10, 2016 in Farmville.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Elizabeth Johnson Banks; three daughters, Carrie Banks Garvin (McKinley), Chiquita Banks Deane (Henry) and Elizabeth Deloris Perkins; seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild along with other relatives and friends.

His remains rest at Marian Gray Thomas Funeral Home of Cumberland where public viewing will be held Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 15 at 11 am in Petersville Baptist Church Cemetery, New Canton.

The Rev. Patrick Bland will officiate.
