‘America is in dire need of a leader’

Oh, what a protracted, and occasionally interesting election season we are enduring.  On the red side, we have Donald Trump, with his jingoistic rants, accompanied by a gaggle of also-rans, who often sounded like a group of freshmen running for senior class president.

On the blue side, there is America’s most infamous socialist, U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders, who appears to believe that there really is such a thing as a free lunch.

He carries on about free this and free that, never admitting that a free lunch must be paid for by somebody (us, the lowly taxpayer).

Then, of course, we have Hillary Clinton, the perfect flesh-and-blood symbol of her party’s four-footed, long-eared avatar. In full campaign mode, she brays her tired old clichés about “fighting” for the common folk. This is the same person who unashamedly collects a quarter-million dollars for a speech.

America is in dire need of a leader, and there seems to be not one in sight.
