Service held for Taylor

A celebration of Dawn Bradley Taylor’s eight years of dedicated service as minister of music and church ministries was held recently at Heritage Baptist Church in Farmville.

The event served as an endorsement of Taylor to realize her lifelong dream of serving in the U.S. armed forces.

The Responsive Reading, led by the Rev. Dr. Ben Powers, ended with the congregation affirming her call and her willingness to go. When Taylor left Farmville, she entered Chaplaincy School in the Chaplain Basic Leadership Course for the U.S. Army. When she finishes the course on Aug. 19 at Fort Jackson, S.C., she will be assigned to a unit at Fort Bragg, N.C.
