PVFD Auxiliary thanks community

The members of the Prospect Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary thank each of you who came out to their annual Meatloaf Supper on Saturday. The meal was delicious and some even won a door prize.

Peggy Kelsey attended the memorial service for Bobbi (Andrews) Morgan at Pisgah Church Sunday. They played the flute in the Farmville High School band. It was great to see many classmates at her service. Bobbi was a retired pharmacist and lived in Gloucester.

Nancy Currie, Jennifer Halliday and Pat Smith enjoyed lunch together at Charleys last Tuesday.

To celebrate Father’s Day, Mr. Charles Smith treated his Dad, Jeff Smith, to breakfast at Merk’s Saturday morning.

On Monday evening, Mrs. Hilde Watson and Mr. and Mrs. Richard McClintock joined Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Smith at their home for the monthly small group covered dish for Faith Bible Fellowship. 

Betty Noblin, along with Henry and Shirley Richardson, spent several days last week with her brother and his wife, Tom and Pat Arrington, at their home on the river in Matthews County. They returned home on June 19.

Richard and Margaret Stockton and several of their friends met at the Prospect Volunteer Fire Department on Saturday where they enjoy good fellowship and a delicious meal.

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Stockton took their son and his family, Lon, Mary Jo and Sean, out to lunch on Sunday to celebrate Father’s Day.

Friends and neighbors are praying for a speedy recovery for Jean P. Derrenbacker, Gail George, Elfrieda Kerns, Betty Jean Bolt and Mildred Harvey Shanks.

Mrs. Flora Bolt attended the meatloaf supper at the Prospect Volunteer Fire Department on June 18. The meal was delicious and it was so good to see so many friends.

On Father’s Day, nine members of the Bolt family got together for lunch at the LaParota Grill to honor Steve Bolt. Those attending with Steve were Flora Bolt, Ashley Bolt, Judy Bolt, Jennifer Bolt, Chris Bolt, Alexa Moser, Haley Murdock and Paydon Murdock.

Farmville High School classes of 1947, 1948 and 1949 are planning to meet for lunch on June 28 at 1 p.m. at Merk’s Place in Farmville. Anyone who has not been contacted but would like to come should call Mrs. Flora Bolt at (434) 574-6536.

The Rev. Chuck Klotzberger will be at Appomattox P.E. Presbyterian church on Sunday. The members of Appomattox P.E. Presbyterian Church at Tuggle invite you to worship with them each Sunday.

Chris Bolt and two young lads of Appomattox P.E. Presbyterian Church handed out chocolate to the fathers attending church on Sunday.

The membership of Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church at Prospect invites you to come and worship with them every Sunday; Sunday School is at 10 a.m. with worship at 11 a.m. The Rev. Caitilin Hoy will be with them the month of June.

The fathers of Davis Memorial were honored on Sunday with chocolate.

Calvary Chapel-Farmville invites you to worship with them on Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. They invite you to join them each week on Wednesday evening for Bible Study for all age groups at 7 p.m. The church is located at 302 Industrial Park Road in the former Stackpole-Carbone building.
