John Otis Amos, 78, of Buckingham, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2016. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a retired employee of Weavexx. He was born March 10, 1938, a son of the late Willie Samuel Amos and Hallie Melissa Carroll Amos.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary Crump Amos; his two daughters, Janet Amos of Scottsville and Penny Amos of Esmont; his two granddaughters, Caitlyn Amos and Christyn Amos, both of Scottsville; two brothers, Robert Amos and Garland Amos; and sister, Shirley Tucker, all of Florida.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, John Alan Amos and 14 siblings.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 22 at 2 p.m. at the Dunkum Funeral Home, Dillwyn, with interment in the Buckingham Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
