Economic development specialist position approved

PRINCE EDWARD — A new economic development specialist position was approved unanimously by Prince Edward Board of Supervisors during its June meeting.
The position was created as a replacement for the economic developer position.
Sharon Carney, the economic developer, will retire this month.
According to County Administrator Wade Bartlett, the economic development specialist will handle day-to-day administrative tasks, as well as managing the enterprise zone, grants and execute incentive packages.
This role will involve the production of promotional materials and research.
The county will search for candidates for the position in coming weeks.
