Mr. and Mrs. Joe David Bass, of Rice, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Lydia Marie, to George W. Bowman III. George is the son of Mr. and Mrs. George W. Bowman II of Prospect.

Lydia is a 2010 graduate of Prince Edward County High School. She received her Bachelor’s in Social Work from Virginia Intermont College in 2013 and her Master’s in Social Work from Radford University in 2014. Lydia currently lives in Virginia Beach and is employed as an assessment and referral clinician at Virginia Beach Psychiatric Center.

George is a 2009 graduate of Prince Edward County High School. He is currently attending Liberty University online pursuing his Bachelor’s of Science in Church Ministry and is expected to graduate in May 2017. Lydia and George are active members of Salt Church, a local church plant in Virginia Beach.

Lydia is the granddaughter of the late William M. Bass and Dorothy U. Bass of Rice, and Barbara Collmann McClellan and the late Dr. Warren X. Collmann of Farmville.

An October 8 wedding is planned.
