Forrest Pennington Barron, 83, passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at his home in Cullen. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister-in-law, Erlene, granddaughter, Robin and half-brother, Herbie.

Forrest was born in Nottoway County on January 31, 1933, the son of Sarah Brooks and Herbert Barron. He was a Charlotte County tobacco farmer and retired from J.P. Stevens after 35 years.

Mr. Barron is survived by his wife, Theresa Shorter Barron; children, James Barron (Sandra), Buddy Barron (Kathy), Vanessa Wilkerson (Danny), Phyllis Townsend (Alan), and David Barron (Lorrie); 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Rogers Bowman; niece, Maria; five half siblings, Mike, Molly, Johnny, Edith and May.
