Central Virginia Arts celebrated the work of JoAnn Jones, Mary Frances Peca and Margaret Stombock at a reception in April. Many people attended to enjoy the artists’ paintings and refreshments prepared by CVA members.
JoAnn Jones, of Buckingham County, takes inspiration for her art from nature, expressed in her drawings and watercolor paintings. Mary Frances Peca, of Farmville, strives to capture the essence of the person, place or animal, mostly rendered in oil. The favorite subjects of Margaret Stombock are landscapes and abstract designs painted in oil or acrylics. She also lives in Farmville.
Their exhibit continues until May 28 at the Riverside Café, 522 N. Main St., Farmville, and may be viewed from 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
Central Virginia Arts, a partner of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, is an organization offering artists and art appreciators lectures, workshops, exhibits, tours and social events throughout the year. For information about CVA, call Tom Dennison, president, at (434) 392-6804.
