Alpha Kappa Alpha betters our community

The Kappa Rho Omega and Lambda Delta chapters of the Alpha Kappa Alpha (AKA) sorority recently donated a bench to the Virso Recreation and Community Center in Meherrin. “This project is a part of the AKA 1908 Playground Project to ensure that children have safe and inviting places to play,” according to a news release. The sorority thanks the Buckingham County Career and Technical Education Center for the construction of the bench, the Virso Community Center for its support and members of the Virso community for their help in installation of the bench. We commend AKA for all it does for the community, from taking care of the youth to the elderly.
