Thomas Q. Sawyer, 94, of Buckingham County, passed away on Monday, April 11, 2016 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He was born July 13, 1921. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth of 68 years.

He is survived by one sister, Louise; two brothers, Joe and Lloyd and his children, Douglas and Ann of Amelia County, George and LeAnn of Buckingham County, Carolyn of Rawlings, Wyoming, Betty and David of Newport News and Dianne and Mike of New Kent County.  He was blessed with 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

A graveside service was held April 16 in the Buckingham Community Cemetery where Tom was laid to rest next to his beloved wife.
