FARMVILLE — The Farmville Town Council will hold a public hearing on May 11 at 7 p.m. to receive public comment regarding the sale of the Travis Building, located at 109 N. Main St.

“I think the people that are buying it will fix it up and use it,” said Farmville Town Manager Gerald Spates. “It’ll be a nice addition to town.”

He said the name of the proposed buyer could not be released.

The town purchased the Travis Building in September for $40,000 and previously said the initial plan was to tear the building down and create a 25-foot-by-160 foot green space.

The public hearing will be held in the council chambers located on the second floor of the town hall.
