On April 10 the Rev. Silas Leon Blanton was ordained at Sharon Baptist Church, Cumberland.

Over 200 people attended, including 15 pastors. The Rev. Larry Smith, Rocky Mount Baptist Church, officiated with music by Rocky Mount Male Chorus.

Blanton was especially honored by the presence of his 101-year-old mother, Mrs. Rosa Nell Blanton, the mother of the church.

Blanton, his wife Tonya, Pastor Rev. Robert R. Jones and the Sharon Baptist Church appreciate community support for this celebration.
