Four Tigers named swimming All-ODAC

Four Hampden-Sydney College swimmers were named to the men’s swimming All-ODAC team on Friday.
Hudson Elmore (Richmond/Mills E. Godwin), Calvin Charles (Fort Washington, Md./Friendly), Conor O’Heir (Flint Hill/Wakefield Country Day) and Conor Roberson (Stafford/Mountain View) were all honored as All-ODAC.
Elmore led the Tiger contingent with a nod on the second team. Elmore proved to be one of the top performing freshmen in the league.
Despite having only been on campus for just one season, Elmore’s name is scattered all throughout the school’s record book 35 times.
Most notably, he has recorded the five top 100-yard backstroke and 100-yard butterfly times as well as the top
mark in the 200 yard backstroke, 200 yard butterfly, 200 yard freestyle, 50 meter butterfly and the 100 meter butterfly. He was also a member of the fastest relay teams in the 800 yard freestyle, 200 yard medley and the 400 yard medley
Charles, O’Heir and Roberson were named to the third team.
Charles posted top times of 23.97 in the 50 yard freestyle, 53.19 in the 100 yard freestyle, and 1:03.50 in the 100 yard backstroke.
His name is in the school record book 32 times. He owns school records in the 200 meter backstroke, 400 meter freestyle relay, and the 400 meter medley relay.
O’Heir posted season-best times of 37.43 in the 50 yard freestyle, 53.23 100 yard freestyle, 2:07.45 200 yard freestyle, 56.89 100 yard butterfly and 2:19.60 200 yard butterfly. One can find O’Heir’s name 49 times in the school record book. He owns the top mark in the 200 meter butterfly, 100 meter IM, 400 meter IM, 200 yard freestyle relay, 800 yard freestyle relay, 200 yard medley relay, 400 yard medley relay, 200 meter medley relay and the 400 meter medley relay.
Roberson proved to be another promising freshman. He recorded season-best times of 2:02.39 in the 200 yard freestyle, 5:27.44 500 yard freestyle relay, 11:46.73 100 yard freestyle and 19:05.57 1650 yard freestyle.
He is the school record holder in the 1650 yard freestyle and 400 meter freestyle and is in the school record book 16 times.
