Shanika DeShay Dove has been chosen a state finalist in the junior teen division of the National American Miss Virginia Pageant to be held July 30-Aug. 1 in Reston. The winner of the pageant will receive $1,000 and advance to the national pageant in California. The National American Miss Pageant recognizes the accomplishments of each girl while encouraging goals for the future. Shanika, the daughter of Tanya Dove, enjoys cheerleading, learning new things at school and taking care of her grandmother.
