Diversity benefits society

I recently had the joy of listening to a choral program at Longwood which consisted of middle school, high school and college voices.
What I realized as I listened to these various groups was that music is a metaphor for and the embodiment of the power of diversity.
Each successive group grew in size and in power through the evening until the final numbers saw all the groups singing together. It is a pity that there were empty seats at Jarman Auditorium. The sound was magnificent.
The wide diversity of ages and voice ranges which, blended together, made for beautiful harmony. The blending of diverse voices has a power and beauty that is transcendent.
Society would benefit from recognizing the analogous appeal of diversity.
