FARMVILLE — The Town of Farmville’s Tree Board will give away free tree seedlings on Saturday from 9 a.m.-noon at the Farmer’s Market on West Third Street.

“As part of its annual Arbor Day celebration, the Town of Farmville’s Tree Board will be handing out more than 800 seedling trees (bare-root bald cypress, persimmon and redbud),” said Katie Register, the board’s co-chair. “This tree give away is free and open to everyone. (There’s) no need to register for the tree giveaway — just show up Farmer’s Market.”

She said that the the Heart of Virginia Master Gardeners would help distribute the seedlings.
